Order your at home Male Fertility Test to estimate the levels of sperm in your semen to provide guidance for reproductive planning for couples trying to conceive.

If you do take a fertility test, you can guarantee peace of mind.

Infertility is usually defined as the inability of a couple to conceive after one year or more of unprotected, frequent sexual intercourse.  There are many different causes of infertility, both male and female. Millions of people worldwide are affected by infertility with it often having a significant impact on overall wellbeing. Approximately 20% of infertility cases are as a result of male infertility. In the male reproductive system, infertility is often caused by the absence or low levels of sperm, abnormal shape or movement of the sperm, or problems with the ejection of sperm.

One-third of infertility cases can be attributed to sperm.

Understanding male fertility is essential if you’re facing difficulties in conceiving. This test can help identify if you have a low sperm count allowing you to seek the right help in your fertility journey.

How can a Male Fertility Test help me?

By measuring the levels of the SP-10 protein that is only found on sperm, this test will be able to help evaluate and monitor your sperm levels.

If you think you have a low sperm count, you can also spot other potential symptoms:

  • Low sex drive
  • Difficulty maintaining erection
  • Decreased facial hair

If you do take a fertility test, you can guarantee peace of mind.

  1. Receive your test kit in the post.
  2. Collect the semen into the collection cup provided, cap and shake the cup, then leave to liquefy for 1 hour.
  3. Transfer 0.1 mL of the semen to the sample buffer using the semen transfer device.
  4. Mix the semen into the sample buffer by inverting the tube 5–10 times.
  5. Transfer 2 drops of the buffer solution to the sample area (S) on the test strip.
  6. Wait 5 minutes for the results to appear.
NOTE: Do not interpret before 5 minutes or after 10 minutes as the results may be inaccurate.

The Male Fertility Test kit detects Acrosomal Protein SP-10 on sperm. Following the collection of semen into the collection cup provided the sample should be allowed to liquefy. Once liquefied, the sample (semen) is added to the test buffer using the semen transfer device. SP-10 protein in the sample binds to anti-SP-10 antibodies in the buffer. When the sample is added to the test cassette, it migrates through the test cassette by capillary action. The SP-10 complex binds to antibodies in the test strip, and a colour is produced depending on the concentration of SP-10 in the specimen.

A low sperm count is classified as the presence of fewer than 15 million sperm per 1mL of semen. A positive result on the Male Fertility Test indicates a sperm concentration of over 15 million/mL. A negative result indicates a sperm concentration of under 15 million/mL.
