There’s nothing worse than shuffling through the day feeling like you’re half asleep. The thing is, a lot of us often feel fatigued even when we get a full night’s sleep. But, did you ever think about the fact that the reason you’re tired could just very well not be related to your actual sleep habits?
Why am I always tired?
If you find yourself constantly fighting fatigue and are looking for a legitimate explanation, here are some of the most common issues that can be rather unknown when it comes to fatigue and its prominence in your life.
• You’re not exercising: Sure, if you’re tired the last thing you want to do is lace on a pair of shoes and head out for a run. However, exercising gets your heart pumping and your body moving. It can help regulate its systems and enhance your overall quality of life. The better you feel, physically, the better you are going to sleep. So, try hitting the pavement more often.
• You’re dehydrated: Dehydration is one of the biggest creators of fatigue in the body. Since our body is over 90% water, staying hydrated at proper dosages throughout the day is critical for our long-term health and state of mind. If you’re dehydrated long enough, ad often enough, you’ll start to feel drowsy and fatigued all of the time. Drinking water regularly, on the other hand, can help you feel motivated and energized. At least it’s an easy fix.
• You’re overstimulated: We all love our technology, particularly in bed. However, spending too much time on our phones or tablets — particularly in the bedroom — is going to overstimulate your brain. This can cause a restless sleep (whether you’re aware of it or not) and you’ll feel tired the next day as a result. The more you do this, the more fatigued you’ll get.
• Your diet is tiring you: If you have a food intolerance or sensitivity, or even a food allergy, it could be impacting your body’s quality of life. If you’re eating a food that your body can’t digest (ie: an intolerance), it will have to work hard and this will tire you out as a result. If you’re eating something every day that you are intolerant to, your body has to work very hard every single day and that will lead to chronic fatigue.
How do I sleep better?
By addressing the first three options in your daily habits and routine, you’ll be able to eliminate those as suspicions for your fatigue. If these don’t work and you still feel like you are exhausted all of the time, you may want to look at something like intolerance testing or allergy testing.
This will help you to be aware of the foods that you are intolerant or allergic to. You’ll be able to modify your diet so your body can start working better. This will help you to enjoy a better and healthier body that will leave you feeling energized more often.
Better sleep is around the corner. You just need to understand what is causing your fatigue in the first place and make the proper adjustments to account for it.
