Home-Made Allergy-friendly dog food
Ingredients
- 275g cups brown rice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1360g ground turkey
- 90g baby spinach, chopped
- 2 carrots, shredded
- 1 zucchini, shredded
- 75g peas, canned or frozen
Method
- In a large saucepan of 700ml water, cook your rice according to the package instructions and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large stockpot over medium heat.
- Next, add in the ground turkey and cook until browned, it should take about 3-5 minutes. Make sure to crumble the turkey as it cooks.
- Stir in the spinach, carrots, peas, zucchini and brown rice until the spinach has wilted and the mixture is heated through. Again, this should only take about 3-5 minutes.
- Then let it cool completely before splitting into portions for later.
- Bag up the dog food into even portions and date them. You're best off freezing for later and moving into the fridge the day before you want to use them (at which point you may want to microwave for 15-30 seconds).
